Acceleration is lost
inside the boot

Performance technology for those who want more.

The mechanics

The slip
nobody talks about.

VICE makes performance grip socks and insoles for athletes who've noticed the problem nobody sells a fix for. Designed in New Zealand by a trained osteopath, tested where the margins are thinnest — across the IPL, the BBL and the AFL — and built to sit outside every boot and kit contract you've already signed.

A cut is a decision made in about a fifth of a second. You drop the shoulder, load one foot and go. Everything you have depends on that foot staying exactly where you put it.

The studs bite the pitch. That part works. What moves is the foot inside the boot.

  • Cotton and blend socks have no mechanical bond to the footbed
  • On every cut the foot shifts a few millimetres while the boot stays planted
  • Small on one cut, and you make hundreds across ninety minutes

A tighter boot does not fix it — it just hurts. This is an interface problem, and it is solved at the sock.

What it costs you

Three things
the slide takes.

01
You lose acceleration
The first two steps out of a cut are where matches turn. A sliding foot spends both of them.
02
You lose the plant
Striking through a foot that shifts changes where the boot meets the ball. Contact is decided underneath it.
03
You lose it by half time
Blisters from repeated shear are a first-half problem, not a full-time one.
The engineering

How it holds.

44
External Grip panels
Gradient PVC, placed where the foot actually loads.
Zoned
Arch Compression
Graduated through the midfoot. Support where the arch asks for it, give where it doesn't
Reinforced zones
Heel and toe rebuilt at the two points every sock fails first.
Straight answers

Questions worth asking.

How are these different from other grip socks?
Panel placement is mapped to how the foot loads and cuts rather than covering the whole footbed, and the design came from a trained osteopath rather than an existing sock pattern.
Do I need to cut up my team socks?
No. Wear the grip sock underneath as it is, or use a VICE sock sleeve over the top. The kit stays regulation and nothing gets ruined.
Which cut should I get?
Most footballers choose crew, worn under shin pad socks. Quarter-crew works if you prefer less bulk. All three cuts carry identical grip engineering.
How do I wash them?
Cold machine wash, air dry. Do not tumble dry — heat degrades the grip panels over time.
